Activity Zone

Did you know that most municipalities won’t accept shredded paper in recycling bins?

The Earth Fair Activity Zone is a great place to explore ways to reuse shredded paper. Stop in to learn the basics of making paper, enjoy the quiet activity of qulling, or make another paper craft!

Shredded paper is very recyclable, but only in dedicated facilities designed specifically to accept it. Fond du Lac is not one of those facilities. In fact, shredded paper can cause huge issues for other recyclables. Tiny shreds of paper contaminate other materials, cause equipment malfunctions, and generally create a large mess in the recycling facility.

What can you do?
  • REDUCE: Only shred what you absolutely need to shred.
  • REUSE: Learn to make paper, compost, or quill your shredded paper
  • RECYCLE: Save up your un-shredded items and take them to a community shredding event, which will take them to a facility where they can be recycled.

Parking

Free parking is available on site. Follow signs for “Solar Array/Founders Hall.”
